Group classes

1. What we offer

We run Bahasa Indonesia group classes from Basic A to Advanced B, in classes of 3 to 8 learners. Classes run at our centre in Tanjong Pagar or online. Each level is 12 lessons of 1.5 hours.

2. Registration and payment

• Pay the fee for your level in full before your first lesson.
• Your seat is confirmed once we receive full payment.
• Promotional rates apply only if you register and pay within the promotional period.
• If your company pays, we can invoice your company directly.

3. Course books

The course book for the Basic and Intermediate levels is included in your fee. If you learn in person, you collect it at your first lesson. If you learn online, we deliver it free within Singapore. Delivery outside Singapore is charged at cost, and we confirm the amount before you pay. The Advanced levels use a separate textbook that isn't included in the fee. We can order it for you and charge you the cost.

4. Missed lessons

For each level you pay for, you can have up to two free make-up sessions of 30 minutes each, held before your next lesson. Occasionally another class is running the same lesson around the same time. If so, you can join that lesson instead. Free repeat classes don't include make-up sessions. We don't refund missed lessons.

5. Free repeat classes

Once you've completed and paid for a level, you can rejoin later classes of that level at no cost, when there's space in the class. Paying learners are placed first. This benefit is personal to you. It can't be transferred and has no cash value.

6. Transfers, withdrawals and no-shows

• Transfers: ask in writing at least 14 days before your class starts. There is a S$50 admin fee per transfer, and a transfer depends on seats in the other class.
• Withdrawals: ask in writing at least 14 days before your class starts. There is a S$100 admin fee per withdrawal. We then refund the rest of the fee you paid.
• Late requests: if you ask fewer than 14 days before your class starts, we can't transfer or withdraw you.
• Waivers: we may waive admin fees on medical or compassionate grounds, or for NS reservist call-ups. Email us the supporting documents. If your class has already started, ask before its last lesson. We decide refunds case by case.
• No-shows: if you don't turn up and didn't ask for a transfer or withdrawal, the full fee applies and isn't refundable.

7. Teachers

The same teacher usually takes your class through all 12 lessons. If your teacher is unwell or travelling, we may assign another teacher. You can't choose your teacher.

8. If we postpone or cancel

If too few people enrol, we may postpone a class with notice. You can move to the next class or get a full refund. We may also reschedule a lesson because of teacher availability or events outside our control. If we cancel a class, we refund the fee you paid for it.

9. Course materials

Our course books, exercises and recordings belong to Learn Indonesian Hub. You can use them for your own learning only. You can't copy, share or use them commercially without our written consent.

10. Photos and videos

We take photos and videos in class and on Zoom for training records and marketing. To opt out, tell us in writing before your first lesson.

11. Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, personal injury not caused by our negligence, or loss of or damage to your belongings.

Private lessons and exam preparation

1. Sessions

Private lessons are one to one with a native Indonesian teacher, at our Tanjong Pagar centre or online. Exam preparation is for one or two learners. Your teacher depends on availability.

2. Booking and payment

• Pay in full before your first session.
• Your session time is confirmed once we receive payment.
• A package is for the learner or learners it was booked for. It can't be shared or transferred.

3. Using your sessions

Complete all the sessions in your package within four months of your first session. The course book is included only with a 12-session private lesson package.

4. Rescheduling and cancelling

• 24 hours' notice: to reschedule or cancel a session, tell us at least 24 hours before it starts.
• Less notice or a no-show: the session counts as used.
• If we need to reschedule: if your teacher can't make a session, we'll offer you a new time at no cost.

5. Other terms that apply

Clauses 9 (course materials) and 11 (liability) under Group classes also apply to private lessons and exam preparation.

Corporate training

1. Scope

We deliver your programme as set out in your proposal: level, format, duration, sessions and headcount. To change any of these, tell us in writing. We'll send a revised quote if needed.

2. Booking

• Your booking is confirmed once we receive your written confirmation.
• We can hold dates for up to 14 business days, or until an agreed expiry date, whichever comes first.
• Send us final numbers, participant details and any special needs at least 5 business days before the programme.

3. Fees and payment

• All fees are in Singapore dollars and nett.
• A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your booking. The balance is due 14 days before the programme starts.
• Late payments may incur interest of 1.5% a month. We may hold back materials or future bookings until fees are paid.
• Venue, catering, printing and travel aren't included unless your proposal says so.

4. Cancelling or rescheduling

• More than 14 business days' notice: you lose your deposit only.
• 7 to 13 business days' notice: 50% of the total fee applies.
• Less than 7 business days' notice, or a no-show: the full fee applies.
• We'll reschedule once for free, to a date within three months, subject to trainer availability. Further changes may incur an admin fee.
• Cutting participant numbers within 5 business days of the programme doesn't reduce the fee.

5. If we need to cancel

We'll tell you as soon as we can and offer a free reschedule or a full refund for that session. Neither of us is liable for delays caused by events outside our control.

6. Materials and confidentiality

Our materials stay our intellectual property and are for your team's internal use only. Any documents or branding you give us stay yours, and we use them only for your programme. We each keep the other's non-public information confidential.

7. Participant data

We handle participant data under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). You confirm you have your participants' consent to share their details with us for registration, attendance and progress reports.

8. What we need from you

A suitable room and screen if training is at your office, unless we've agreed to arrange it. Participants who arrive on time. A safe environment for our trainer.

9. Conduct

We may remove any participant who is disruptive, abusive or unsafe. We don't refund fees for that participant.

10. Liability

Our total liability for a programme is capped at the fees you paid for it. We aren't liable for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Photos and testimonials

We use photos or testimonials in marketing only with your written consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

General terms

Events outside our control

We aren't liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, government restrictions or public health emergencies. We may move classes online instead.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version on our website when you book is the one that applies.

Governing law

These terms follow the laws of Singapore. Disputes go first to good-faith discussion, then to the Singapore courts.
